6th August 2004 Sensei Chastell and the S.W.S.D.A feature in the Hertfordshire Mercury in an artical about the bennefits of Self-Defence for children and teenagers.

5th September 2004 Sensei Chastell retires from MMA / NHB Fighting. Due to injury David has formally retired from MMA / NHB. However, he will continue to compete in Judo / Ne Waza contests as well as Sparing with students.

October 2004: The S.W.S.D.A is very proud to inform you all that Sensei Chastell has just returned from HONG KONG after extensive training in the Art of Wing Chun Kung Fu under Grand Master Ip Ching during this time Sensei Chastell also trained at Yiu Kay's Wing Chun of Foshan . It is planned for Sensei Chastell and a select group of students to retun in the near future.

May 2005: The Street Wise Self-Defence Association welcomes Self-Defence UK and Andy Chapman (2nd Dan) as full members. Andy is a well respected instructor who is recognised by the SDF and is our Regional Rep for Yorkshire / Halifax. SDUK and Andy are a welcome addition to our instructors.

May 2005: David Chastell has been appointed SDUK's Regional Rep for Hertfordshire, David is also now recognised by SDUK as fully qualified instructor and Grade Assesor for SDUK.

26th September: 2005 This is a very Proud day for the S.W.S.D.A Sensei Chastell has been apointed as an Instructor with the Self-Defence Federation under Dave Turton 8th Dan Self-Defence.

27th October 2005: Sensei Chastell has been apointed Self-Defence advisor and Reporter to the Hertfordshire Close Quarter. This is a local Martial Arts magazine and can be ordered directly from us.

26 January 2006: We are proud to announce that the S.W.S.D.A will be joining forces with the Delta Security Academy. The DSA is a fantastic organisation aimed at providing effective Self-Defence training as well as ROKS (Real Operating Krav Maga Systems). Further more Sensei Chastell will be teaching with Captain Antonio La Salandra a 2 day seminar and 3 day Instructor course. Contact us for more details.

13th March 2006: The S.W.S.D.A is proud to announce another Senior Instructor has joined us. Sensei Wayne Short (Judo and BJJ) is a long term Friend, Instructor and Training Partner of Sensei Chastell. Due to his incredible ground skills Sensei Short has been appointed as our

19th March 2006: Today Sensei Chastell took a team of 3 Judoka to the 'All England Judo Federation' National Newaza Championship. We are pleased to report that we came away with 4 Medals: 1 Gold (Sensei), 1 Silver and 2 Bronze. Very well done to all those who competed esp. Russel who dislocated his knee but fought on to gain a Bronze Medal! !

21st May 2006: To day welcome Richard Smith as a FULL Instructor, Richard is a welcome addition to the Senior Instructors Panel and is our Regional Rep for Milton Keyens. Anyone intrested in training under Richard should contact us or email him directly: rich1swsda@yahoo.com

18th June 2006: We are proud to announce that David has been inducted in to The World Elite Black Belt Society by Soke Bryan Cheek 10th Jiu Jitsu / 8th Dan Judo. Sensei said:

'I am very proud of this, I have been training directly under Soke Cheek for a number of years and this recognition means the world to me!'

14th July 2006: We regret to inform you that our Hertford Heath club will close as on 24th July 2006, this is due to a Money Hungry Booking Clerk who refused to talk to us regarding hire charges for the hall. Instead we were told to leave.

16th July 2006: Once again the S.W.S.D.A dominated the AEJF National Newaza (Judo Ground Fighting) Championships. 4 Judoka from 'Street Wise Judo' took part in the contest and we swept with the following results:

"Very well done to all those who took part I am so proud of you all, the total of 7 Medals from 4 Judoka shows the determination of you all!".

22nd July 2006: Today Sensei Chastell was certified as an S.D.F (Self-Defence Federation) Advanced Self-Defence Instructor, by one of Dave Turton's most Senior Reps - (Stuart Rider 3rd Dan).

Once again the S.W.S.D.A grows to a new standard and this will only serve to improve the quality of instruction our members recive.

Sensei Chastell has today been awarded 2 Dan Grades in 2 Seperate arts. As a Dan Grade in Judo the AEJF awarded David his 2nd Black Belt in Judo and placed him on the National Team.

David was also awarded his 1st Dan in Jiu Jitsu by Soke Bryan Cheek 10th Dan. We have now started: 'Street Wise Grappling'.
